Here’s a real-world 2-months cash flow model we analyzed for January–February 2025:
Revenue increased from $50K to $60K
Net Income rose from $17K to $22.4K
But Net Cash Movement dropped from $112K to $40.4K

At first glance, everything looks positive, growing revenue, improving margins (60% to 62%), and rising profitability.

But beneath the surface, cash dynamics tell a deeper story:
1. Operating cash flows are lagging due to increased working capital needs.
– Accounts receivable increased from $30K to $36K — meaning more cash is tied up in unpaid invoices.
2. Debt funding increased by $20K, explaining why cash still rose despite declining inflows.
–This is a signal of external financing being used to support growth.
3. The closing cash balance went from $112K to $152.4K — strong, but not just from operations.
The insight? Profit doesn't always mean liquidity.
